The Institute for Global Sustainability Student Arm: SG17
The SUSTAINABILITY GROUP (SG17) was established as a structured, student-led mechanism to advance Mapúa University’s commitment to sustainability, global responsibility, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Aligned with Mapúa IGS, SG17 integrates leadership development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and measurable SDG initiatives within the University.
Its Constitution and By-Laws balance student democratic participation, effective executive leadership, and institutional accountability. The governance framework supports elected student leaders, continuity across academic terms, and safeguards against abuse, mission drift, and organizational instability.
