Global Signature Course Series in Managerial Economics

September 18, 2023 • Mapúa University

About 70 students from the Philippines and Kazakhstan joined the first two sessions of the Global Signature Course (GSC) series in Managerial Economics last September 11 and 13, 2023. The students are from the Accountancy, Management, Business Administration, and Global Management programs. GSC is one of the initiatives of the ASU-CINTANA Alliance universities to enrich and provide students with a unique learning experience.

The first lecture entitled “Sustainable Economic Growth: Development and Issues,” was delivered by Pauline C. Dangaran, a faculty member of the E.T. Yuchengco School of Business at Mapua University. Ms. Dangaran’s presentation centered on the most important topic over the years for Business Leaders, that is, adhering to Corporate Social Responsibility. The discussion highlighted the issues related to the environmental impact of business giants, including resource depletion, air, water, and soil pollution, habitat destruction, greenhouse emissions, waste generation, and biodiversity loss. The faculty and student participants of Mapua University and Almaty University exchanged ideas about the perspectives of the Philippines and Kazakhstan on achieving sustainable growth. Ms. Dangaran ended her presentation by challenging the students to create a sustainable business model that aims to positively contribute to the world in the long run. The students’ presentation will be done on the third session of the GSC series on October 9, 2023.
