Interdisciplinary Collaboration of Psychology and Nursing Programs

Mapúa University School of Health Sciences embraces an interdisciplinary perspective in addressing complex health issues. An initial endeavor to use this collaborative interdisciplinary lens started in the course Health Psychology with the students of Psychology participating in an Immersive Laboratory Learning Experience that allowed them to conduct CPR or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

SHS Faculty Represents the PAP-SIG-PWD in a PFRD-sponsored Event

Representing the Psychological Association of the Philippines Special Interest Group for Persons With Disabilities (PAP-SIG-PWD), Dr. Antero Rosauro V. Arias, Jr. of the Mapùa University School of Health Sciences delivered a talk on the subject “Pagkalinga sa Sarili ng Mga Magulang na May Mga Mag-aaral na May Espesyal na Pangangailangan,” in an event sponsored and organized by the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled (PFRD) on July 20, 2023.

Mejia, Dean of Nursing, the School of Health Sciences participated in the second leg of the 2023 Mapúa Cardinal Summit on June 17, 2023. The academic heads, faculty and staff of the School of Health Sciences rallied behind Mapua’s efforts to give the senior high school and undergraduate students a unique experience in making them part of the university’s cutting-edge education in health sciences.

School of Health Sciences held Psychology Week 2023

The Psychology Week of the School of Health Sciences, which spanned for five days on July 17–21, 2023, marked a milestone as it was the very first celebration since the onset of the pandemic. The reopening of this tradition brought with it an air of unity that had been sorely missed during those virtual gatherings of the past years.

Summer Immersion Program: Renewable energy and its benefits to business and the environment

This summer immersion program will be held in collaboration with Petro Energy Resources Corporation (PERC). The objective is to expose and equip participants with practical knowledge on renewable energy and allow them networking opportunities with leading experts who will be sharing industry and real-world knowledge. Participants will also get hands-on learning while visiting PERC facilities and other industry sites. In addition, this summer immersion program includes exposure to Philippine culture and tradition.

A Reflection on Mr. Consing's Master Class in Business Leadership
